Atlas of Variant Effects

Programs and Research Fund

The Atlas of Variant Effects is an international collaborative effort with a mission to propel systematic measurements of variant impact on functional elements of human and pathogen genomes, towards diagnosing and treating human disease and understanding genes, gene products and their regulation.

Your generous contribution supports our mission and helps to support (and grow) Alliance research programs, our seminar series, travel awards for conferences and much more.

Our top priorities are:

Building the Atlas

Providing seed funds for variant effect mapping initiatives and large-scale data generating projects

Data analytics / integration

Supporting computational (AI and Machine Learning) method development

Technology development

Supporting the expansion of novel experimental methods

Data infrastructure

Supporting the management and curation of our central data repository (MaveDB) and collaborative resources (such as MaveRegistry)

Building capacity

Training early career scientists and research leaders

Sustaining the international network

Providing operational infrastructure

Gifts of any amount make a difference.

We appreciate your support! Thank you!

We are also actively looking for sponsorship to support:

  • AVE Rare Disease Podcast (coming soon!)

  • Variant Effect Seminar Series

  • Science Communications Fellow

  • Mutational Scanning Symposium (bursary/travel awards for URM and folks in LMIC)

  • We can also help match funders to map makers (of their favorite gene)
